Argumentative? Why?

As we know, an argumentative text gives us some arguments about a controversial case, or, to argue something dilemmatic, in purpose to give the readers the truth about something that is still be a controversy, or at least, to give the readers another way to look at the case differently. Will they choose the left side or right side? People can state their own choise in a dilemmatic case, so it is up to them. Am I right? I think so.

Why must we write argumentative text? That is a simple question, but it is little bit difficult to answer the question. May I say because it is an order from Mr. Chosa? Maybe yes. But that is not the real answer I think. So what is the answer if that is not? Let’s think!

Hmmm… I will try to think in collegers way. If I am a college student, do I study argumentative text? Yes, I do, it will be taught. What will I get later? Academic title? Of course, if I graduate. How to graduate from college and get the title? Write a research paper? That is the answer! Yes, in writing a research paper, we have to use argumentative, because in research paper we try to prove something. So we give some theories, some recommendations, and of course some proofs to the readers in order to make the readers sure about the thing that we observe. Do you get the point? The point is as college students, we have to write a research paper to graduate, and to write a research paper, we have to use argumentative, now we are studying to. Why must we write argumentative text? I have already answered that question.

It happened when I was in the second grade of senior high school. I will proudly say, SMA 11 Yogyakarta! Someday, I and my friends went to eat at an angkringan that located in front of my school. But, when we saw across the street, the angkringan was closed. And finally we went to another angkringan that was not far from the closed one. Then we ate there together. I didn’t know why did my friends don’t order some drinks, and then finally I became the lucky number one. I asked the woman who’s sat not far from the stove, “Mam, would you make a glass of iced tea for me, please?” Then, guest what would she said? “What? No kid! I’m not the owner of this angkringan. I just like you, I’m a buyer too.” Then laugh was booming there. And finally I asked for apologize to the woman with red face because of embrace.

from early morn till midnight

First, I’m going to tell you that I am a college student with a lot of things to do that make me feel so tired. Yeah, every day I have to go to campus to study, ehhm, actually it’s not every day, but every Monday until Friday. Let me tell you, Tuesday is the day that I am starting to hate. Why? Because Tuesday contains two boring lessons despite the lessons are very important to us. So, can you guest what are the two lessons? RIGHT! Structure and Indonesian Language! Do you know why? It’s because… Hey wait! I think it is Paragraph Writing Lesson, not Hating Lesson, hehehe. Okay, let’s back to the story.

My activities are started when I get up from my sleep, it’s about 5.50 in the morning. Lazy, ha? Whatever, hohoho. Then I never forget to give a miss call to my girl to give her an alarm to wake too, after that, my most interesting activity was started, chatting! Hohoho… I use Mxit application to chat with people, including my girlfriend, hehehe... As you know, like other couples do every day, say hello to their girlfriend or boyfriend. Then after five minutes having a chat, I take a bath and have a breakfast after wear clothes. And after that I ride to campus quickly, because the distance between my house and this campus is quite (read: very) far. I arrive at campus about 7 O’clock, but I often late, hehehe…

This is the most confusing section to tell to all of you guys, my activities after college, because it never fixed. Okay, let me try. First, if there are no more things to do, I will go home. Then after I arrive at home, I will lay my body on my bed, not to sleep actually, just to take a little rest, it is always, hehehe. Then the things to do are watching TV and face my computer till the early night comes, or go out to play. Second, if I have several things to do, or go to play with my senior high school friends, or sometimes I have to pick my girl up from school, I will do that. But most of them, I arrive at home at 6 O’clock in the afternoon averagely. Then, after that I take a bath and go to eat. About study? I ‘m going to tell you a little secret to you guys, I will not study if there is no test I the next day, hehehe… Psssstt! Don’t tell this to anyone, okay?

My daily activities will face the end when I go to sleep. But before that I always watching movies on TV and having chat in my phone, it is averagely at 11 O’clock in the night. I never forget to say good night to my girl first before we go to sleep. What do you think? It is very sweet? Hohoho…

I let you guess who she is

Every student needs teachers to study, and has favourite teacher. But in the college, we don’t call them teachers, but lecturers. Yes lecturers! After about 12 years studied in school, we finally meet some one who teaches us called lecturers. Here, I will try to describe my favourite lecturer, but, as the order from Mr. Chosa, I can’t tell all of you what the lecturer’s name is.

Let me start from the appearance first. My favorite lecturer is a woman. She is a fat woman with round head and brown skin. She has mid-short straight hair with short-bobbed style, and she is in medium height for women size. Actually if she and I stand together, I am little bit taller than her, hehehe. In the face, she has dark eyes, pug nose, little big lips and chubby cheek.

About her personality, she is a humourist person with big sense of humor. She is warm person also, she always throw smile to everyone. And, she is little bit foolish, hahaha. My friend suggests me to write ‘very foolish’ but I still have attitude.

So, can you guess who is she? Try it friends, because I let you guess who she is!

Process: How Tape Fermented

For the foreign people, please note, read the word ‘tape’ with the right pronunciation. Read that as [tΛpe], not [teIp]. Tape, yes tape. What is tape? Tape is a kind of Indonesian food which is made from glutinous rice. It is a fermented food, so the glutinous rice has to be fermented first. Why tape? Because it is very delicious!

As I told you before, tape is made by fermented glutinous rice. In the process, the glutinous rice is fermented by yeast first, in a closed container. Why it has to be fermented in a closed place? Because the process of the fermentation has to be clean, not contain any harmful bacteria that come from air. After about a week, the fermented tape that we are ready to eat will had been finished, and we can enjoy it. But, what happens in the one week time while we are waiting? I will tell you.

After a day when we begun the process by add the yeast in the glutinous rice, the oxidation-reduction reaction has begun. This reaction engage the micro organism (yeast), separates the organic substance, in the common ways it is glucose, into aldehyde, alcohol, and acid. After the reaction that can happened until five or six days, the micro organism produces water, carbon dioxide and a number of energy. And finally, the fermentation has finished. From the first, we just have some glutinous rice and yeast. But at the end, we got more because it contains water, sugar or glucose and alcohol.

describing favorite thing

My Fantastic Computer

My computer is a 'low profile' computer, but it has many advantages for me. It is a Intel-Pentium personal computer. It has a 2,4GHz processor, it also has a 256Mb of Dynamic Data Rate RAM and only a 32Mb VGA and 40Gb of hard disk. Although it just a 'medium-low' performance computer, it helps me in my whole life, because I work with this computer. It bring so many ideas to my work, because I work in a, what is that, you can call it graphic design sector, but actually I work by my self, not with other people. so it brings me money too, hahaha. In the other hand, I did my assignment(s) on it.

In the appearance, the CPU has a purple colored-chasing. It has eight cooler fan. On the multimedia side, it has one Asus CD-ROM and one Asus DVD-ROM. A few days ago, I added a AGP VGA in my CPU, it is 128Mb Ge-Force MX-4000 VGA card, yeah, the lengend of VGA card. I bought that from my Junior High School classmate.

With my new powerful CPU, I can work more effective, supported by an GTC 15' monitor, I can work very comfortable in front of my PC. But actually, my keyboard and mouse are a little bit broken. My keyboard had crashed down from my computer desk, and the same situation happened with my mouse, next time I will aask my father to buy me the new one, hahahaha.

I have a lecturer. he had taught me Listening Class at the first semester. Now he teaches me Paragraph Writing Class at the second semester. His name is Mr. Chosa. He is about 30 years old, he is tall person with black-weavy hair, and he always wears an eye-glasses. He usually wears a white shirt and black trousers. Maybe people will say that he is a good-looking man, and yes, I think he is very good-looking person. But, actually he is very 'jayus'. Do you know 'jayus' buddy? It is like if we want to make a joke, but it is not funny. Indonesians will say "garing" to that. Well, that is my essay to describing my lecturer, Mr. Chosa. Hope you enjoy with my written.
